Passenger Plane Returns to Talakan Airport After Technical Issue
A passenger aircraft was forced to turn back to Talakan airport following a technical problem. Details were reported through the Telegram channel Baykal-Angara transport prosecutor’s office.
According to the ministry, the incident occurred around 12:49 local time (06:49 Moscow time). The crew of the IrAero airline plane, which had departed from Talakan bound for Irkutsk, elected to return to the airport after determining that the landing gear could not be lowered safely.
On board were 100 passengers and 6 crew members. There were no injuries reported as a result of the event.
In the aftermath, the prosecutor’s office initiated an investigation to verify adherence to safety rules and the protection of passenger rights during the incident.
Earlier, there was a report of a separate emergency landing involving a plane that had taken off toward St. Petersburg, with alerts from Telegram channel 112 indicating reduced pressure in the cockpit. That aircraft carried 111 people. The emergency landing reportedly occurred in Mineralnye Vody and later in St. Petersburg, illustrating how multiple incidents can unfold in a short period.
Two American planes were involved in a collision at Chicago airport in a separate unrelated incident. This sequence of events highlights ongoing safety considerations across international air travel and underscores the importance of robust aviation protocols for airlines and regulators alike.
For travelers in Canada and the United States, these reports reinforce the need to stay informed about airline operations, safety advisories, and any changes to flight schedules that may affect itineraries. Aviation authorities continue to monitor incidents closely, with investigations aimed at understanding root causes, preventing reoccurrences, and protecting passenger rights during air travel.
