The Sverdlovsk Regional Court ruled that an amusement park in Pervouralsk must pay non-pecuniary damages to a child who was injured on the center’s trampoline, according to the court’s press service.

The case centered on a ten-year-old who sustained a spinal injury after landing awkwardly on the hard edge of a trampoline at Beehive Park in June 2022. The impact caused severe chest pain and made breathing difficult. A hospital visit soon after the incident led to a CT scan, which showed a compression fracture. The recovery required a lengthy treatment period, including wearing a support corset for six months.

The boy’s mother petitioned the local court in Pervouralsk to recover 742,982 rubles for her son, plus 10,840 rubles for property damage. The court partially satisfied these claims, ordering 300,000 rubles in compensation.

Neither party was satisfied with the decision. The boy’s parents then appealed to the Sverdlovsk Regional Court. After reviewing the case, the higher court increased the compensation, ordering the trampoline center owners to pay 500,000 rubles to the child.

Earlier, the incident was described as a mishap involving a student while using the trampoline at the center.
