Svea Solar, a company focused on photovoltaic solar power generation for self consumption, has launched its first training center for solar panel installers in Alicante, Spain. Acknowledging a shortage of qualified workers in the sector, the firm is investing in education and safety with a center that will welcome more than 200 students. Svea Solar aims to double this number in 2023 and exceed 400 trained professionals in time.

The new education hub sits at Calle Mariano Benlliure 19, offering both theoretical and hands‑on instruction. The facility features test stations with life‑size roof models and a practice area so learners can operate in realistic scenarios. More than €200,000 has been invested to bring this project to life.

“The push for renewable energy use is now,” notes Daniel Nilsson, general manager for Spain, “and it is crucial to pursue it safely with solid guarantees. At Svea Solar, the goal is to build the strongest network of in‑house installers in the country, with the most highly trained professionals.” Rafael Duesca, director of the Alicante Training Centre, adds, “Alicante has long been strategic for us, making this installation center for installers and power modifiers a natural step.”

Mª Carmen, a member of Alicante City Council’s Employment and Development Council, attended the launch and said, “This model mirrors Alicante’s entrepreneurial spirit and its commitment to the renewables of the future.” Jesús Navarro, vice‑president of the Alicante Chamber of Commerce, also attended, describing the opening as a point of pride for the city. He emphasized how it strengthens public‑private cooperation and supports local economic vitality.

The Alicante Training Centre joins Svea Solar’s existing logistics network in Spain, which includes locations in Madrid and its surrounding area, Valencia, Barcelona, Málaga, and Seville, with planned sites in the north in Zaragoza and Bilbao. The company currently installs more than 100 self‑consumption photovoltaic systems each month, excluding larger industrial projects, and projects growth by a factor of ten over the next five years. This expansion aligns with broader North American market interest in reliable, in‑house solar expertise and safety standards, as observed by industry observers across Canada and the United States [Source: Svea Solar corporate materials].

To mark the center’s opening, Svea Solar collaborated and sponsored initiatives with ESDEC, Bet Solar, Huawei, Bluebase, Equipo Vertical, and Grupo Escriche, underscoring a multinational approach to training and equipment partnerships that support high‑quality solar installations in various climate zones and regulatory environments [Source: Svea Solar corporate materials].
