A resident of Zheleznogorsk-Ilimsky in the Irkutsk region died by suicide after facing a string of losses tied to a complicated apartment transaction and a series of personal hardships that followed.
According to a Telegram channel reporting on local events, a woman identified as Julia M. borrowed 960,000 rubles from her former spouse to fund a new apartment purchase. Agents arranged the deal, and the property was found quickly through a real estate intermediary named Nelly Birman. After the transaction completed, the money disappeared, and the intermediary vanished from public view. Shortly after this financial shock, Julia endured another blow when her husband died, compounding her distress.
Despite the cruelty of these blows, the woman attempted to rebuild her life. She remarried, and on April 9 she planned to celebrate a birthday for her new husband, Ruslan, with hope for happiness ahead. Yet the day did not unfold as expected. The husband, feeling uneasy and overwhelmed, did not offer support at the moment it was needed, and a contentious atmosphere arose. Julia began to threaten self-harm and then carried out an apparent attempt on her own life. Her husband acted to intervene, but his efforts were not enough to avert the tragedy.
Earlier reports indicated that a doctor at the Chelyabinsk Cancer Center had discovered Julia in distress, underscoring the severity of the emotional strain she faced. The situation highlights how financial deception and personal loss can converge, leading to severe consequences for those involved. The incident has prompted discussions about the impact of fraud on individuals and families and the importance of timely support for people in crisis. (Source: Telegram channel Babr Mash)
