According to the briefing, Ukrainian armored units and infantry groups had established camouflaged temporary strongpoints along the forward edge of the forest belt. These positions were described as concealed to resist observation and counter-battery fire until the moment of contact.
The ministry explained that two pickup trucks were tracked moving in a forest corridor toward a specific target over several days. Front-line reconnaissance teams identified the suspicious route and directed the data to the artillery control point. Once the coordinates were verified, units directed artillery fire to neutralize the threat.
Officials stated that accurate fire from closed firing positions was delivered using 122 mm D-30 howitzers. The described action resulted in the destruction of the infantry units and theequipment that were dug into the improvised strongpoints, according to the defense statement.
