A male suspect, whose identity and age have not been disclosed, is reported to have fatally stabbed another person in Murcia on the night of October 31, according to people familiar with the case.
The incident occurred around twelve thirty in the early hours at the Mamy Blue bar located in Vereda del Catalán. Santa Cruz is a town within the Murcia region, home to just over 2,600 residents. For reasons that remain unclear, an argument erupted among several patrons of the venue, escalating rapidly as voices rose. During the confrontation, one participant drew a knife and struck the other person in the abdomen. After the attack, the assailant fled the scene, vanishing into the night.
Regional police officers from Murcia acted quickly, responding to the report with speed. Possessing a description of the suspect, they managed to locate and detain him shortly thereafter. The individual was transferred into the custody of the Civil Guard, the agency overseeing the ongoing inquiry. The victim, a 44-year-old man, is identified as Spanish, while the alleged assailant shares the same nationality.
Emergency medical teams were dispatched to the bar but were unable to save the victim, who was declared dead at the scene. In the wake of the tragedy, a psychological support team was deployed to provide comfort to the deceased person’s mother and sister as they navigated the shock of the loss.
The remains were subsequently moved to the legal-medical institute for examination, where an autopsy will determine the final cause and manner of death and support the investigation in establishing the sequence of events and any additional charges that may be warranted.
