The head of the Main Organization and Mobilization Department of the General Staff, Vladimir Tsimlyansky, stated that soldiers recruited in the spring would not be sent to the special operations zone. This information was broadcast on the channel Russia 24.

He added that there are now enough personnel called and mobilized to carry out the assigned tasks under contractual terms.

“Not a single non-commissioned soldier will be sent to a special military operation zone. Today, the number of contracted and mobilized soldiers is more than sufficient,” Tsimlyansky emphasized.

In September 2022, the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces asserted that conscripts would not participate in a special operation in Ukraine.

Spring conscription in Russia begins on April 1 each year.

Former President Vladimir Putin signed a decree approving the spring call to the army.

Additionally, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin stated that preparations are underway at the capital’s military recruitment offices in advance of the upcoming call for military service.
