The total daily television consumption by Spaniards in July stood at 2 hours and 50 minutes per person. A report from Barlovento Comunicación notes this is 18 minutes shorter, a 10 percent drop from July of the previous year.

Europa Press reports that linear television accounts for 164 minutes per day, which represents 96 percent of total viewing, while viewers commonly experience a typical delay of six minutes, making up four percent of daily consumption.

Looking at who watches the most, women average about 3 hours and 3 minutes of daily viewing, while individuals over 64 years old average 5 hours and 2 minutes per day. The same study shows that people who watch television every day clock in an average of 4 hours and 53 minutes, which is 15 minutes less than the prior year.

In terms of reach, the daily unique viewer count is 26.5 million across Spanish television media, representing 57.9 percent of the population. Monthly figures reach 42.3 million, indicating that 92.5 percent of the population watched at least one minute of television during the month.

Back in July 2022, total daily television use, including traditional broadcasts and other formats, was 3 hours and 22 minutes per person. That figure is 12 minutes lower than the same month the year before.

As a consumer universe, roughly 3.41 million people out of 45.7 million potential viewers had not connected to media for even a minute over the month, a segment making up about 7.5 percent of the total audience.

These findings provide a snapshot of how Spaniards engage with television, highlighting a shift toward shorter daily viewing for many and a persistent appeal among older audiences. They also underline the broad reach of television in Spain, with millions following daily or monthly patterns that shape how advertisers plan campaigns and how networks measure impact across different age groups and viewing habits.
