The Spanish Head of Government, Pedro Sánchez, visited Clue Technologies’ facilities in Malaga on Sunday to spotlight the company’s role in advancing the nation’s aviation sector. He praised the leadership’s sustained commitment to boosting Spain’s aerospace industry and its potential to drive economic transformation as part of the Healing, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
During the visit, the Executive Chairman, together with Pedro Fernández, the Government delegate in Andalusia, highlighted the government’s ongoing investment in aerospace. They noted that 2.5 million euros has been allocated from the Aerospace Strategic Project (Perte) to support Sky AI Connect, a collaborative effort by Clue Technologies to deploy cutting-edge computing and intelligent communication technologies within the aerospace and defense domains. The aim is to strengthen Spain’s capabilities in these critical sectors while expanding opportunities for regional technology firms.
The event underscored SMEs as essential drivers of technology and aerospace progress. The discussions emphasized how recovery and transformation of the economy hinge on stable government support and a clear commitment from leadership to position Spain as a world leader in the semiconductor value chain—an objective tied to long-term innovation, domestic manufacturing, and international competitiveness.
Under the Microelectronics and Semiconductors Strategic Project (Perte), public backing exceeds 12.25 billion euros. This substantial investment seeks to give Spain strategic autonomy and align with the shared goal of capturing a substantial share of world semiconductor production within Europe, strengthening supply chains and safeguarding critical technologies.
The Head of Government reaffirmed the steadfast commitment to Andalusia’s development, noting that the region’s financing package for 2023 is the largest ever recorded, surpassing 24.38 billion euros and marking a 25 percent increase over the previous year. He reminded attendees that the General Government Budget for 2023 allocates more than 2.5 billion euros to Andalusia, a near 3 percent rise from 2022, and includes a 50 million euro allocation to advance an Employment Plan for the region. These figures reflect a broad strategy to bolster regional prosperity, attract investment, and create good-paying jobs across technology, manufacturing, and services sectors.
