Troop group “South” units repelled three attacks by Ukrainian offensive units in Avdiivka, Marinka and Alexandro-Kalinovo, all located within the Donetsk People’s Republic. This was announced by Vadim Astafiyev, the head of the group’s press center, reports TASS.
Astafiyev stated that the group’s forces held their positions and did not allow a retreat or a shift in their combat stances. He added that the enemy suffered heavy losses in personnel and armored vehicles.
The official noted that the group’s aviation conducted two sorties toward Lisichansk, striking several Ukrainian military strongholds. He also reported that the calculation of a 240-millimeter Tulip mortar within the Southern Military District artillery brigade neutralized an ammunition depot near the village of Zvanivka in the Donetsk region, Astafiyev continued.
In the counter-battery phase, artillery units of the group destroyed two self-propelled artillery systems, an armored personnel carrier, a 120-millimeter mortar and an anti-tank system.
A commander from the Solntsepek heavy flamethrower system noted the defeat of a platoon fortress belonging to the 57th separate motorized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Astafiyev said.
He also reported that the crew of an Osa-AKM air defense system near the Peski enclave shot down a Ukrainian Fury drone.
