The Solidarity Companies initiative in Alicante Province launches a fresh edition with clear aims: to recruit new partner organizations and assets to support this social responsibility effort. This marks the thirteenth cycle of the project, which centers on delivering Christmas celebrations that include food and hygiene items to meet the needs of diverse associations and groups across the province.
In the prior year, the program achieved a record level of participation and raised 126,906 Euros. That total came from the financial and in-kind contributions of 111 organizations, including companies and corporate foundations spread throughout the province. Consequently, the project organized 1,600 Christmas celebrations for 63 social organizations. The surplus funds from the holiday campaign were used to provide direct financial aid to 24 social groups during the summer of 2022, distributing resources to families at risk of exclusion in various areas of the province. Overall, 87 associations benefited from the initiative in that cycle.
Participation in this year’s campaign began in October, and organizations interested in joining can sign up through the project’s website contact form or by sending a message to a designated address. Solidarity Companies is a collaborative effort created by multiple firms in the province. They joined forces in 2010 to provide support to families facing hardship across several municipalities during the Christmas season. Since its inception, the number of participating companies has grown from an initial nine to a large network of institutions and organizations that contribute financially or with in-kind support. During the most recent edition, more than a hundred entities took part, underscoring the broad community commitment that sustains this charitable project.
