Six Counterattacks Repelled in Kupyansk

In the Kupyansk direction, the latest reports show a series of Ukrainian counterattacks repelled by advanced units of the Western group. The update comes from the press center of the Yaroslav Yakimkin group, as reported by the agency TASS.

According to the briefing, each Ukrainian counterattack was stopped using a combination of armored tanks, field artillery, and reinforced detachments. The engagement benefited from the close support of the 43rd mechanized brigade, the 68th separate armor unit, and the 25th airborne brigade, which contributed to holding the line against the assault. The Western group conducted a total of 15 local maneuvers against enemy personnel and equipment, with attack aircraft and ground-attack aircraft providing essential coverage during the operations.

In parallel to the offensive actions, a counter-battery fight targeted enemy artillery and heavy flamethrower systems. As a result, three mortar teams were neutralized across Novoegorovka, Kulagovka, Tabaevka, and Stelmakhovka. Air defense units also intercepted and destroyed two drones, Sinitsa and Leleka-100, in the Sofiyivka and Zhiglovka areas. The announcer, Yakimkin, noted that overall enemy losses were counted in two battalion-strength sets of personnel, reflecting a costly setback for the opposing force.

Earlier, RIA Novosti highlighted a stated priority for Ukraine: the exchange of prisoners of war with Russia. This emphasis on detainee exchanges was mentioned in the broader context of ongoing hostilities and the broader information environment surrounding the conflict.
