Acciona has partnered with Nissan to distribute Silence S04, a lightweight, fully electric four‑wheel microcar designed for urban environments, as announced by the multinational company. The collaboration signals a strategic move to bring silent, city‑friendly mobility to more markets and widen the reach of Silence, Acciona’s electric vehicle brand.

Nissan will hold distribution rights in France and Italy starting in June for the S04, along with Silence’s electric motorcycles. The alliance is set to extend to additional European markets beginning in September, enabling Silence to leverage Nissan’s established dealer network across the continent and accelerate adoption of urban electric mobility.

The S04 blends car comfort with motorcycle agility, featuring a modular, removable battery system that supports charging at home or in an office setting. This design delivers practical flexibility for urban residents who require compact, easy‑to‑charge transport that can fit into tight city spaces.

Next year, Silence plans to expand its battery‑swap service to more European markets, mirroring its Spain network to cut the initial purchase cost of its vehicles and broaden access to electric driving. This approach aims to reduce downtime and simplify ownership, making electrified urban travel more convenient.

The existing battery‑swap ecosystem in Spain already includes more than 110 locations and roughly 1,110 swap points. The goal is to grow to 160 stations and 1,600 swap points by the end of the year, creating a dense, convenient network for rapid battery exchanges across major cities.

The S04 is offered in two models: the L7e and the L6e. The L7e features two batteries and delivers 14 kW of power, with a top speed of 85 km/h and a range of 149 kilometers per charge. The L6e, which can be driven without a license in many jurisdictions, comes with a single battery and 6 kW of power, reaching a maximum speed of 45 km/h, making it an accessible option for urban deliveries or short commutes.

In addition to its compact electric drive, the S04 includes smart connectivity through the My Silence app, a single portal consolidating vehicle needs for owners. The app provides features such as keyless entry, location tracking, and real‑time monitoring of range and charging status, offering a seamless digital experience for city mobility.

Through the app, customers can also connect with friends and share vehicle access without exchanging physical keys, expanding accessibility and flexibility for multi‑user households or small teams that rely on urban mobility solutions. This shared‑access capability enhances convenience while maintaining security and control over the vehicle.

Customers will be able to view both S04 models and Silence’s electric motorcycles at Nissan dealerships in France and Italy in June 2024, with plans to extend availability to other European markets, including Germany, starting in September. The strategic rollout aligns with broader efforts to accelerate electrification across Europe by leveraging established dealer networks and aftersales support.
