Army General Sergei Shoigu, the head of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, visited training grounds in the Southern Military District to assess the progress of contract soldiers’ preparation. This update comes through TASS with reference to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The defense minister observed driving lessons and the execution of combat firing by tank crews equipped with the T-90 Proryv variants. Training exercises were conducted using modern interactive simulators that enable comprehensive study of all elements of combat readiness, including synchronized decision-making, maneuvering, and weapons handling under varied conditions.

Shoigu personally evaluated how contract soldiers are developing their combat skills across a range of environments, ensuring that the training reflects real-world demands and operational standards.

On June 26, the Russian Defense Minister visited a special operations area and reviewed the forward command post of one of the Western Forces Group formations to understand command and control capabilities in dynamic situations.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported to Shoigu on the implementation of the state defense order at a military-industrial complex enterprise in the Omsk region. An automated line for assembling caterpillar pallets was demonstrated to the minister as part of ongoing modernization efforts.

Additionally, reports indicated that Shoigu supervised the progress of combat missions carried out by teams stationed at a special radar station in the Western Military District. The radar unit is tasked with detecting and tracking small-sized space objects, contributing to broader defense and early-warning capabilities.

In recent remarks, President Vladimir Putin has spoken about the future direction of the Russian army, highlighting ongoing reforms and modernization efforts aimed at strengthening national defense and strategic readiness.
