A quartet passed over several pedestrians and people on the terrace this Wednesday afternoon. An accident at Plaza del Pueblo in Alcobendas left seven people injured, including a quadricycle driver who was hospitalized with a serious prognosis.

The incident unfolded around seven thirty in the evening after multiple witnesses dialed 911 to report that a quadricycle had struck a large number of bystanders, some of whom were seated on outdoor terraces along the plaza in question near Madrid. Emergency services arrived swiftly and coordinated a response that involved local police, the Red Cross, and Summa 112 teams. Seven individuals were treated at the scene and seven were transported to hospitals, while three were released locally after initial care.

The most severely injured is a 25-year-old quadricycle driver who sustained a serious head injury. The driver was intubated on-site and later moved to La Paz University Hospital in Madrid in critical condition. Paramedics also treated a 75-year-old man who suffered a shoulder fracture and a minor head injury, as well as another man with an open fracture to the leg and a possible pelvic fracture. The first patient was taken to La Paz, and the second to Ramón y Cajal Hospital, with both cases described as potentially serious by authorities.

Additionally, a 48-year-old man reported neck pain and was referred to Infanta Sofía Hospital for evaluation with a mild prognosis. The remaining three treated individuals were discharged at the scene after receiving initial care. This incident prompted the Alcobendas regional police to assume the investigation into the multiple-hit-and-run event, as they collect details and review surveillance material to determine a precise sequence of events and any contributing factors.
