Multiple-occupant collision damages local workshop and nearby vehicles after an early morning incident
Early Monday morning, a vehicle with five occupants, all minors, crashed into the front of a workshop on Luis Morán de Benavente Street at about 1:30 a.m. The impact left the storefront severely damaged and created a chaotic scene for nearby residents and passersby.
Local authorities reported that the car was being examined as part of the accident investigation when the incident occurred. The driver, a person under 17 years old, underwent standard tests for alcohol and drugs. Inside the vehicle were four additional passengers, all minors. Two of them sustained injuries serious enough to require medical attention, and they were transported to Zamora Hospital for treatment of multiple bone injuries. The vehicle itself was reported stolen and had been used without authorization before the crash.
Witnesses described two occupants escaping from the scene while others in the neighborhood urged them to assist their friend and stay at the scene for accountability. The surrounding area bears visible marks from the collision, with the damage extending to the workshop facade, a wall, and three other cars parked nearby, many of which sustained damage from the vehicle impact and the subsequent towing activity.
Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and statements from residents to determine a precise sequence of events, including how the stolen vehicle came to be in operation and whether any party involved faced additional charges beyond the initial incident. Additional follow-up updates will be issued as the investigation progresses.
