Sevastopol regional leader Mikhail Razvozhaev reported via his Telegram channel that eight unmanned aerial vehicles associated with the Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted a nighttime strike on the city. The report places the incident in proximity to Sevastol Bay and the Cape Hersones area within the Balaklava district. Local defense authorities, including air defense forces, naval units, and electronic warfare teams, coordinated to counter the threat from the sea lane near the harbour and coastal zones.

The governor noted that one drone was shot down over the sea, while five additional drones were neutralized by electronic warfare capabilities. He also confirmed the destruction of two surface drones along the outer roadside, underscoring the rapid response across the layered defense network that operates in the region.

Razvozhaev emphasized that there were no injuries arising from the drone incident and that facilities within the city and in the water areas sustained no damage as a result of the attack. The swift defense actions helped protect critical infrastructure and civilian sites during the nighttime activity.

In a related update, authorities referenced a separate incident in which nine drones were reported attempting to strike a major oil storage facility and an electrical transformer facility in the Belgorod region. This information aligns with a broader pattern of drone activity observed in border areas and underscores ongoing security measures across diverse sites in the region.

Additionally, regional officials noted that Russia has recently introduced new systems designed to suppress drone threats, reflecting ongoing efforts to strengthen air and cyber defense capabilities. These developments form part of a broader strategy to deter, detect, and mitigate unmanned aerial threats in coastal and border zones across the country. The operational focus remains on preserving civilians, critical infrastructure, and maritime assets in the face of evolving aerial threats, with continuous evaluation and adjustment of defense protocols as needed.
