In Sevastopol, residents and observers reported louder-than-usual sounds near the city center, connected to a naval exercise focused on anti-submarine support (ASSS). A regional telegram channel attributed the information to the city’s governor, Mikhail Razvozhaev, who later confirmed the activity.

The governor noted that the training occurred around the North and South Piers, with participants including several units of the Russian military who employed small arms as part of the program. He stated that the exercise would continue through the day, expected to wrap up near 13:00 Moscow time, and emphasized that overall conditions in the city remained stable and calm.

On the evening of February 25, air raid sirens sounded in Sevastopol. Concurrently, smoke was observed near the main bay, which Razvozhaev attributed to standard camouflage practices used by Russian forces during the operation.

Subsequently, the local authorities announced that the special regime in the city was rolled back. The air raid alert lasted for slightly under an hour.

On the same day, Russian air defense personnel reported intercepting two Ukrainian missiles over the Black Sea. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine allegedly targeted areas near Russian territory around 19:00 Moscow time.

Earlier statements from Sevastopol’s governor referred to a reluctance among some residents to abandon the city despite the perceived danger, signaling a concern for civilian readiness amid the ongoing security situation.
