A resident of Sestroretsk has been implicated in a fraud case tied to the online sale of illegal images involving minors. Authorities say the investigation focused on a 19-year-old who found prohibited photos and videos on the internet this spring and used a messaging app to offer nude pictures of children to buyers seeking illegal porn content.
Criminal investigators first detected the activity about three months ago and conducted a methodical search for the person responsible. On August 16, officers detained an individual along Primorskoye Highway after tracing the communications and transactions linked to the case.
The accused had a history of complaints suggesting that his intermediaries were paid to secure scarce items but failed to deliver on promises, leading to ongoing disputes and allegations of non-performance in prior dealings.
At present, prosecutors have opened a case under the charge of Manufacturing and Circulation of material or objects containing pornographic images of minors, with the investigation continuing to determine the full scope of the network and its participants.
The matter also involves a former German police officer who has become a defendant in a separate case concerning the distribution of child pornography, adding an international dimension to the ongoing legal proceedings.
