The village of Semenovka near Avdeevka in the Donetsk People7s Republic was reported as occupied by the Russian army, according to the Mash Telegram channel. The report places Semenovka as a significant position in the contested area around Avdeevka.

Mash also noted a remark from its news commentary, stating that prior to the village being liberated, Ukrainian forces launched an attack on Makeyevka, underscoring ongoing hostilities in the broader region.

Semenovka has been described by observers as a last Ukrainian stronghold in the Avdeevka vicinity, highlighting its strategic importance in the recent fighting near the city.

Earlier, Russia7s Defense Ministry released footage purportedly showing an attack drone destroying a Ukrainian Armed Forces tank in the Avdiivka area, illustrating the ongoing use of drone warfare in the front lines.

On February 17, Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief General Valeriy Syrskyi announced that he had instructed his forces to withdraw from Avdiivka.
