Scenic E-Tech, a fully electric vehicle, has been named Car of the Year for 2024 in Europe. The award was announced at a ceremony held at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland on Monday, February 26.
In the Alicante province, the Japemasa dealerships will receive the first units in early May, with initial availability in the towns of Alicante, San Vicente del Raspeig, Finestrat, Alcoy, and Petrer.
Following the first round of voting conducted last November, the Scenic E-Tech 100% electric finished among the seven finalists: BMW 5 Series, BYD Seal, Kia EV9, Peugeot E-3008/3008, Renault Scenic E-Tech 100% electric, Toyota C-HR, and Volvo EX30.
The winner was decided by votes from 59 automotive journalists across 22 countries. The Scenic E-Tech 100% electric claimed first place, marking Renault as the seventh brand to win the prestigious Car of the Year award, following Renault 16 (1966), Renault 9 (1982), Clio (1991), Scénic (1997), Mégane (2003), and Clio (2006) [Source: Official announcements].
“All teams within the group and the Renault brand are incredibly proud to receive this prestigious Car of the Year award. This recognition confirms that we have made the right decisions: record-breaking range, spacious interior, and a controlled environmental footprint—paired with driving enjoyment and a vehicle that feels lively and ready for action,” stated Fabrice Cambolive, CEO of Renault, about the win.
Developed on the AmpR medium platform (formerly CMF-EV), the Scenic E-Tech 100% electric targets active, multi-purpose buyers. It offers zero emissions, quick handling, and compact dimensions (4.47 m in length), making city driving comfortable. For longer trips, the vehicle provides up to 625 km of WLTP range, along with enhanced comfort, interior space, and driving pleasure driven by practical technologies.
The Scenic E-Tech 100% electric starts at under 40,000 euros, with potential public subsidies where incentives exist. Orders are open, and the first vehicles are expected to arrive soon at the Renault dealership network.
