A Saratov region court has found a 40-year-old local guilty of three separate sex offenses against a minor, delivering a lengthy prison sentence after a detailed trial.
The case, which unfolded between 2018 and 2021, involved the defendant living with a woman and her underage daughter. Exploiting moments when alone with the girl, the man repeatedly committed rape and other sexual acts. He captured some actions on a cell phone camera and used this material to threaten the victim, warning that he would release the video if she spoke out to anyone nearby.
The victim eventually spoke to a classmate in January 2022, who then urged her to tell her mother. The girl disclosed the abuse to her parents and contacted law enforcement, triggering formal investigations and subsequent court proceedings.
During the trial, the defendant denied the charges. After reviewing the evidence and testimonies, the court handed down a sentence of 24 years and 6 months in prison. A portion of that term will be served in a standard regime facility, with arrangements for movement to a stricter regime colony as the sentence progresses.
