The Ruviki Internet Encyclopedia has entered into a formal cooperation agreement with the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). The collaboration brings together profile scientists and experts who will assess the portal’s materials for accuracy and relevance. The announcement came from the organization’s press office and signals a joint effort to raise the encyclopedia’s scholarly standing.
Officials confirmed that the project’s general director, Vladimir Medeiko, participated in the signing ceremony alongside the academy’s president, Gennady Krasnikov. The partners also set a concrete goal: to review at least two thousand five hundred articles by the end of 2023 as part of the initial validation phase. This milestone reflects a structured plan to improve the reliability and breadth of the encyclopedia’s entries.
In the first stage, the scope of research will span topics including history and physics, according to the press service. The initiative aims to build a robust backbone of verified content that can serve researchers, students, and curious readers who seek well-sourced information.
Krasnikov stressed the project’s emphasis on delivering dependable, up-to-date information. He noted the readiness of members of the Russian Academy of Sciences to back the Ruviki Internet Encyclopedia and to contribute to expanding its database with high-quality material. The collaboration aligns with a broader effort to provide accessible, factual knowledge across domains while adhering to transparent editorial standards.
The project released a beta version of the Ruviki portal on June 27, 2023. The encyclopedia was developed using the Russian segment of Wikipedia as a foundation, aligned with national legislation and the principle of presenting materials from an impartial perspective. This approach aims to balance scholarly rigor with broad accessibility, inviting continued input from researchers and contributors.
During discussions about the differences between Ruviki and other knowledge resources, the founding team outlined key distinctions and future directions for the platform. The emphasis remains on curating verified content, offering clear sourcing, and fostering a community of experts who can contribute to ongoing quality improvements. The alliance with the Russian Academy of Sciences underscores a commitment to long-term credibility and an expanding collection of well-structured entries that serve audiences across education, research, and general interest.
