A Russian woman living in Vietnam reportedly cut off contact with her family several months after giving birth to a child with a Vietnamese citizen. Relatives have cited information from loved ones as the basis for these reports.

The woman, 43 years old, arrived on the Indochina Peninsula three years ago. She taught English in Vietnam and formed a relationship with a local resident, with whom she later welcomed a daughter in March of this year.

In mid-June, Evgenia Bliznyuk, a resident of Saint Petersburg, traveled to Hanoi. She planned to proceed with an immigration step by leaving Vietnam via a neighboring country, Laos, using a visa-exemption route and stopping at the border to reset her permitted stay. However, when the bus departed, she did not board and has since stopped answering calls from family and friends. Reports from relatives note the concern and the lack of contact since that time.

The partner of the Russian woman, with whom they share two young children, has also been unable to reach her since June 12, according to the same sources. The family says the child was three months old when the separation occurred and expresses deep worry about her safety. One contact described fears that harm might have occurred, suggesting possibilities such as harm to the woman or the child. The elder daughter reportedly has messages indicating tensions in the relationship, including mentions of drug use, financial pressure, and threats involving authorities.

Earlier, a letter was sent to St. Petersburg police noting that a relative had disappeared while in the vicinity of a consulate.

There were also reports in May about another incident involving a different Russian traveler who was unable to enter Israel after an issue at Istanbul airport.
