The Russian Federal Security Service has requested the Lefortovo Court in Moscow to detain a Russian national on charges of treason. This development was reported by RIA News, which cited information from the court.
The court confirmed that a petition had been filed seeking a preventive measure in the form of arrest in relation to the individual identified as GA Blinov.
Details about the criminal case were not disclosed, owing to its confidential nature.
On 2 November, the Lefortovo Court in Moscow ordered the arrest of another Russian man, Rylov, who faces treason charges. If found guilty, he could face a lengthy prison term, potentially up to 20 years.
Earlier, the Moscow District Court initiated a probe into a case involving a 22-year-old resident of Voronezh, Anton Osipenko. Reports indicate that Osipenko sought to join the International Legion of Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to participate in hostilities against the Russian military. He stands accused of treason in the form of an alleged attempt to defect to the opposing side.
In a separate development, former Russian actor Kanakhin was reportedly detained in absentia in connection with an incident in the Bryansk region.
