Russian military officials report that tank crews targeted an area in the Kupyansk direction where Ukrainian military equipment had been gathered, successfully striking the intended targets. The defense ministry described the operation, as reported by RIA News.
According to the ministry, T-80BVM tanks from the Western Military District participated in the mission. Crews located Ukrainian assets with unmanned aerial vehicles and then engaged Ukrainian forces at the affected positions.
It was stated that three enemy armored vehicles and two armored personnel carriers were destroyed from covered firing positions. The fire was confirmed by unmanned aerial vehicles, and the strikes were recorded by onboard cameras.
The ministry added that Russian tank crews have the capability to operate along the line of contact using direct fire or from indirect fire positions. Opting for the latter allows crews to remain unseen by Ukrainian forces.
Meanwhile, a commander from one of the Russian tank batteries, who uses the call sign “Falcon,” highlighted that crews daily destroy enemy strongholds and observation posts within the zone of special military operations. In addition, Russian forces reportedly conduct regular attacks on ammunition depots and equipment inside Ukraine.
Previously, officials in the Lugansk People7s Republic discussed Western media coverage of the Kupyansk area and the ongoing military activities there.
