Russian Aerospace Forces Receive Batch of Su-34 Fighter-Bombers and Advances in Defense Tech
The Russian Aerospace Forces have taken delivery of a batch of new Su-34 front-line fighter-bombers, as confirmed by the press service of the United Aircraft Corporation. The batch was produced at the aircraft factory named after its founder in Novosibirsk, with commissioning details provided by officials who noted that the aircraft underwent comprehensive ground and flight testing prior to delivery.
Su-34 aircraft are equipped to carry precision air-to-surface weapons that extend the range and improve the targeting accuracy for a variety of mission profiles. This capability aligns with efforts to bolster operational effectiveness for long-range engagements and diverse combat scenarios.
In addition to the new deliveries, the manufacturer has initiated a program to significantly boost production output in 2024. A prepared production reserve has been established to support this expansion, ensuring readiness to meet increased manufacturing demand and sustain continuous deliveries.
Officials from the enterprise said that the facility remains actively engaged in the maintenance and airworthiness upkeep of aircraft currently in service, underscoring ongoing readiness and reliability across the fleet.
Earlier reports highlighted Russia’s patent activity in aviation tech, including a concept for a supersonic multifunctional unmanned combat aircraft. Described as a two-seat stealth tactical platform, the design is said to detect and engage air, ground, and surface targets across subsonic and supersonic speeds and over a broad altitude range. It is also envisioned to function as an airborne command center for networked operations involving mixed aircraft groups.
There has also been progress in the development of drone suppression capabilities as part of ongoing modernization efforts.
