The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs dismissed rumors that police were placed on high alert. The denial appeared on the ministry’s official site, issued to clarify recent claims.

Officials stated that Metropolitan police officers work to keep public order in Moscow every hour of the day and night. The message underscored that the city remains under steady police supervision and that routine patrols are ongoing to ensure safety for residents and visitors alike.

The response followed a Telegram channel report, attributed to Baza, alleging that center-city patrol units in Moscow, along with some transport personnel, were increased by two to two and a half times. It also claimed that officers in civilian clothing were deployed to duty, and that security measures had been intensified after an alleged warning from the United States Embassy about a potential terrorist attack in the Russian capital.

Prior to these assurances, there was an incident in Lyubertsy in which five people were injured. Police resources were dispatched after a call described an armed attack near a cafe on Komsomolsky Prospect, prompting an immediate response and ongoing scene management by the force.

Earlier, a separate incident in central Moscow involved an armed confrontation reported in connection with events on a public square. The situation prompted a swift police deployment and an investigation into the perpetrators and motives involved.

In all cases, authorities emphasized that security procedures remain active and that law enforcement continues to monitor and respond to threats, while residents are advised to stay informed through official channels and to report any suspicious activity promptly.
