Russian MoD reports Msta-S strikes and Ukrainian disruptions in ongoing operations
In ongoing combat missions, the self-propelled Msta-S howitzers of the Western group of the Russian army engaged targets in Ukraine, destroying a 120-mm mortar and hindering the rotation of Ukrainian forces. The claim was reported by TASS, citing a source within the Russian Ministry of Defense.
In one sector of the operation zone, reconnaissance from the Western group used unmanned aerial vehicles to detect an accumulation of manpower and weapons belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the defense ministry said. The report notes that the coordinates of these targets were transferred to the Russian artillery command center to guide further strikes.
The defense ministry stated that the 120-mm Ukrainian mortar was eliminated by fire from 152-mm Msta-S self-propelled howitzers. In addition, Russian troops disrupted the rotation of Ukrainian units through their attacks.
On October 3, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that soldiers from the Dnieper troop group defeated manpower and equipment from four Ukrainian brigades in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. It was claimed that Ukrainian losses included about 75 personnel, one tank, and several pieces of equipment.
Earlier, statements attributed to Alaudinov referred to reports about Ukrainian soldiers fleeing the Kursk region.
