Russian Military Claims on Ukraine Tank and IFV Losses in Donetsk and Zaporozhye Regions

In recent statements, the commander of a UAV unit with the call sign Yakut reported that the 1430th Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces destroyed an armored group of Ukrainian forces. The claimed unit consisted of two Leopard tanks and two Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and was said to have been targeted during an aerial attack by FPV drones. The commander noted that these drone strikes, when combined with artillery support, helped defend a larger Russian armored formation.

The same source indicated that Ukrainian forces had previously operated in larger formations but now prefer smaller teams, sometimes using one or two tanks, one or two Bradley IFVs, or pickup trucks for operations.

Earlier, updates from the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that Russian troops repelled three Ukrainian attacks along the Donetsk front, with Ukrainian forces allegedly sustaining significant casualties of about 160 soldiers.

On October 27, statements from Vladimir Rogov, the head of the movement We are with Russia, claimed that four German Leopard tanks were destroyed in a battle in the Zaporozhye region near Orekhovsky. Rogov also claimed that Russian forces had gained control of a major Ukrainian stronghold near Novodarovka in the same region.

Previously, President Zelensky was quoted as saying that Kyiv sought to prevent the conflict from crossing into Russian territory. The reported developments illustrate the ongoing, fluctuating dynamics on multiple fronts, with various sources presenting a mix of battlefield claims and strategic movements.
