The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Russian Armed Forces neutralized a multilayered MLRS launcher near Novotroitsky using the Iskander-M system, emphasizing an operational-tactical strike that targeted the launcher position. The ministry, cited by TASS, described this as a decisive action within ongoing hostilities.
In its briefing, the ministry asserted that beyond destroying the universal MLRS system, the strike also eliminated an escort vehicle and up to 15 personnel from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, framing the event as a notable impact on Ukrainian military capabilities in the field.
Earlier statements from the Ministry claimed the sets of actions included the destruction of a ST68 mobile radar station designed to detect low-altitude trajectories and a workshop involved in drone production as part of the broader conflict dynamics in Ukraine.
According to the ministry, the operation was executed with the combined use of unmanned aerial systems and operational-tactical aviation, coordinated with rocket units and artillery to maximize effect on the target area and ensure precision in engagement.
Additionally, the defense ministry highlighted active air defense responses, noting that in the past 24 hours defense systems repelled or intercepted several projectiles. They reported the downing of 15 shells from American-made HIMARS systems and three Hammer air bombs reportedly delivered to Ukraine with the support of French sources, portraying these actions within the ongoing defense posture of the Russian forces.
There have been prior reports from Russian forces detailing the destruction of HIMARS MLRS systems in the Nikolaev region of Ukraine, which the ministry characterized as part of ongoing operational successes against Ukrainian military hardware.
