The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Russian forces repelled three Ukrainian Armed Forces attacks in the Donetsk direction, with losses to Ukrainian troops tallied at about 160 personnel.
According to the ministry, three enemy assaults were halted and units and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated in the Krasny, Andreevka, Kurdyumovka, Kleshcheevka, and Maryinka areas within the Donetsk People’s Republic.
It was noted that in the same sector the Ukrainian army suffered the loss of two armored fighting vehicles and four cars in a single day.
During the counter-battery clash, the Russian side claimed hits on a HIMARS multiple launch rocket system vehicle and an American-made M119 howitzer.
In the Zaporozhye direction, Russian forces reportedly destroyed a German Leopard tank.
On October 27, Vladimir Rogov, leader of the We are with Russia movement, said that in the Zaporozhye region near the Orekhovsky area the Russian army destroyed four Leopard tanks in combat. He also claimed that Russian troops captured a key stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the settlement of Novodarovka in the Zaporozhye region.
A former Ukrainian fighter commented on the conflict, noting a lack of clarity about its causes.
