Russian attack helicopters target Ukrainian forces in Kupyansk direction, reports indicate

Russian attack helicopters from the Western military group are alleged to have carried out a series of strikes against temporary deployment points of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Kupyansk direction. A spokesperson for the group, Sergey Zybinsky, stated in a TASS interview that twelve separate attacks were conducted using Ka-52 and Mi-28 helicopters. These strikes targeted formations, personnel, weapons caches, and military equipment belonging to the 14th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian forces, as well as units of territorial defense.

According to Zybinsky’s account, the enemy sustained losses as a result of counter-battery fire from Russian artillery. A 2S3 Akatsiya howitzer reportedly fell to a barrage from a Msta-S howitzer in the Malaya Shapkovka area, while a D-20 artillery system was claimed destroyed near the Volchiy road. In addition, a D-30 howitzer, operated under the command of junior sergeant Andrei Kutarenko, was said to have eliminated a Ukrainian mortar crew near Gatishche village.

The report also notes air defense successes, with a Buk-M3 surface-to-air system destroying an enemy HIMARS multi-rocket projectile in the Zagoruykovka region. Another claimed achievement was the Tor-M2 anti-aircraft system neutralizing an enemy Furia reconnaissance drone.

Earlier reports mentioned debates over the absence of F-16s in Ukrainian service, with a claim pointing to the lack of signatures from a high-level American official as a contributing factor. In a separate development, there were references to discussions in a national parliament about showcasing captured or broken military equipment from NATO allies as a display of force or deterrence.

The described sequence of events reflects ongoing claims of intensive air and artillery engagements in the region, along with assertions about the effectiveness of advanced Russian air defense and attack systems. The information presented is attributed to official sources and press briefings, and may form part of broader propaganda or information campaigns within the conflict context.
