Russian Artillery Engagements Reported in Krasnolomansky Direction

The press center of the central group reported that crews operating Msta-S self-propelled artillery mounts struck infantry and military equipment of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Krasnolymansky sector. The information comes from DEA News.

According to the briefing, Ukrainian soldiers were identified with the help of Orlan-10 reconnaissance drones.

Data on the enemy’s location were relayed to the calculations operating the Msta-S artillery systems. The resulting fire defeat led to losses among Ukrainian personnel and equipment, according to the spokesperson.

The briefing also noted that movement of infantry fighting vehicles of the Ukrainian forces was observed in the Chervonodibrovsky division, with some vehicles destroyed by artillery strikes and others dispersing into nearby woods.

Earlier, the Russian defense ministry’s official representative, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, stated that the Russian grouping included artillery and heavy flamethrower crews. After engagements with Ukrainian units, he claimed a purge affected nearly 100 Ukrainian soldiers.

On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a decision to organize a special military operation in Ukraine following a request for assistance from the heads of the LPR and DPR. The move was cited as a justification for subsequent sanctions from the United States and allied nations.
