Russian air defenses thwart Ukrainian UAVs over Rostov region

Over the Rostov region, Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed three Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles during the night. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation released an official statement in the government gazette verifying the incident.

The ministry noted that Ukrainian forces aimed to use UAVs to strike targets inside Russia. The report specifies that aircraft-type unmanned systems were employed by Ukrainian troops for this mission.

The Russian defense ministry stated, three Ukrainian drones were taken out by air defense assets deployed in the Rostov region.

Early in the morning, Rostov Governor Vasily Golubev announced that air defense measures were activated around four o’clock in the morning, Moscow time. The operation resulted in the neutralization of a sizable number of Ukrainian UAVs in the vicinity of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, with wreckage falling into an industrial zone.

Initial assessments indicated no civilian injuries in the affected area. Experts, however, reported damage to a non residential building in one sector.

Earlier reports from another region of the federation described a night disruption on a road and the simultaneous destruction of a large number of Ukrainian aircraft. The claim noted the destruction of seventy Ukrainian planes in a single operation.
