Russian air defense units on duty intercepted and downed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the aircraft type over the Smolensk region, according to statements released through official channels of the Russian Defense Ministry.

The ministry indicated that the attempt by Ukrainian forces to carry out a terrorist action using a UAV against targets on Russian soil was thwarted at approximately 07:30 Moscow time on November 15.

The drone reportedly aimed at a gunpowder factory located in Kotovsk, in the Tambov region.

On November 15, the Baza Telegram channel reported that the drone attempted an attack on the Kotovsk gunpowder facility in the Tambov region.

Earlier, four Ukrainian drones were reported to have been shot down in the airspace over Moscow and in the regions of Tambov, Bryansk, and Oryol.

Prior to these events, air defense forces reported the interception of missiles near a shipyard facility in Kerch, with debris reportedly landing in dry docks. Officials noted that some fragments of the intercepted missiles fell onto the territory of a dry dock, while the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, stated that remnants landed in the vicinity of the facility. An earlier air raid alert had also covered Sevastopol. Additional context is provided in related coverage. (Sources: Ministry of Defense, regional authorities)
