Russia-Ukraine Conflict Updates: Kherson Fuel Tank Destruction, Grom-2 Claims

The Russian Defense Ministry reported damage to a fuel vessel in the Kherson region, stating the incident involved a fuel tank destroyed near the village of Otradokamenka. The ministry said the facility belonged to the 126th brigade of Ukraine’s territorial defense, as conveyed to reporters.

The briefing also noted that air defense systems in Russia intercepted a ballistic or glide-type target from the Grom-2 operational-tactical complex of the Ukrainian armed forces within the special military operation zone. The Russian Ministry of Defense provided these details in its update.

According to the Ministry of National Defense, three HIMARS multiple rocket system rounds linked to Ukrainian forces were neutralized, and two unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed in the Donetsk People’s Republic’s Novoandreevka and Zeleny Gay during the day’s operations.

Grom-2 is described as a mobile launcher carrying two surface-to-surface missiles on a five-axle all-terrain truck chassis, developed for use within the Grom system. Developers indicate that the destruction radius of Thunder missiles can reach up to 500 kilometers, depending on the missile variant, underscoring the system’s long-range reach.

There were reports from Ukrainian media about the use of a JDAM precision-guided bomb near Artyomovsk by Ukrainian forces for the first time, highlighting evolving tactics in the conflict and the broadening scope of munitions deployed on the battlefield.
