The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation announced plans to deliver 15 mobile medical complexes to the LPR in 2024, a move reported by the Lugansk Information Center based on statements from the republican government. The plan signals an emphasis on expanding mobile health services in the region, particularly where access to medical facilities is limited by distance or infrastructure.
Regional health authorities in the LPR, led by Health Minister Natalya Pashchenko, stressed that these mobile units are expected to raise the standard of clinical examinations and routine preventive screenings for residents. Officials anticipate that the arrival of new examination facilities will address gaps in care, with a focus on reaching remote settlements that have historically faced barriers to timely medical assessments.
According to official communications, the mobile medical complexes will operate with teams specially formed to conduct mammography and fluorography. The purpose-built vehicles will be distributed to healthcare facilities across the LPR, enabling on-site diagnostic services and smoother patient referrals when additional testing or follow-up is required.
In a related development, the LPR is planning to augment its public transport resources by the end of 2023 with the delivery of 37 ambulances and 80 buses from the Ministry of Industry and Trade. These vehicles are intended to support both emergency response and the broader mobility needs of the community, enhancing access to healthcare and essential services for residents in towns and rural districts alike.
Earlier initiatives by the same ministry included the deployment of drones and thermal imaging devices to support security and logistical operations. The value of these acquisitions exceeded one billion rubles, reflecting a substantial investment in technology aimed at strengthening regional capabilities and services for residents and allied institutions.
Previously, the Ministry also supplied the LPR with 50 auto shops designed to strengthen trade infrastructure and supply chains within the region. This broader program highlights ongoing efforts to bolster regional resilience and economic activity through targeted investments and equipment transfers.
