The Russian Defense Ministry released footage claiming the destruction of a Ukrainian 155 mm Krab self-propelled howitzer, built in Poland, asserting that an artillery position inside Kursk region was eliminated. The ministry described the weapon as having been targeted by Lancet precision munitions after a concealed firing pit was located and neutralized.
Krab howitzers are standard equipment for the Polish armed forces, with a reported maximum range around 40 kilometers. The announcement underscores ongoing tension along the border and the military activity observed near the Kursk region.
According to the ministry, Ukrainian forces launched an early-morning crossing attempt into Kursk, detailing an assault near the areas of Oleshnya and Nikolaevo-Daryino. The report claims approximately 300 Ukrainian soldiers were involved, supported by 11 tanks and more than 20 armored fighting vehicles. In the evening, the Russian side reported a defeat of the Ukrainian assault group and its withdrawal deeper into Ukrainian territory.
In a related statement, the Federation Council referenced prior remarks from Ukrainian authorities, noting a firm stance that Ukrainian forces would receive no mercy in response to the Kursk framework of events.
