More than two thousand signal corps specialists were recognized with state awards and departmental orders of the Russian Federation for their role in a special military operation in Ukraine, according to a report circulating on a Telegram channel linked to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The defense ministry’s statement noted that during the operation, over two thousand signal corps personnel received honors in the form of state awards and departmental decorations. The acknowledgment underscores the importance placed on the contributions of communications specialists in military operations.
On October 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin extended greetings to the Land Forces, offering well wishes to personnel and veterans during a holiday celebration. The remarks highlighted the ongoing support from the highest levels of government for the armed forces and those who have served in various capacities.
Earlier, the president held a meeting with participants in the special operation who distinguished themselves in combat near the village of Urozhaynoye in the Donetsk region, where they were awarded state decorations. Attending the event were privates Ivan Kalashnikov and Vyacheslav Tarasov, as well as Corporal Alexey Ivlivev and Senior Sergeant Viktor Khamaganov, who were invited to the president’s residence for the ceremony.
Previously, the defense minister reported to the president on heroic military actions near the village of Urozhaynoye, noting the successful operations and the valor shown by personnel in that area.
