More than two months with little news about Kate Middleton, one of the most photographed women in the world, and then two statements arrive within just over 24 hours. On Saturday night, at 11:00 p.m. local time (one hour earlier in the United Kingdom), Buckingham Palace issued a message in which the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Catherine, thanked the public for the expressions of support after the video in which the princess revealed she was fighting cancer and ended speculation about her health.
Catherine and William have expressed that they were “deeply touched” by the reactions and messages from people around the globe as well as the flowers left outside Buckingham Palace in London.
“The prince and princess are profoundly moved by the kind messages from the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth, and everywhere in the world in response to Her Royal Highness’s message,” a spokesperson said in a statement released late Saturday. “They are grateful for the warmth and support from the public and appreciate the understanding of their request for privacy at this time,” the statement added.
