During a working session in Kazan, Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Andrey Ryumin, the General Director of Rosseti PJSC, explored opportunities to broaden collaboration within the electric power sector, as reported by the company’s press service.
The discussion highlighted plans to develop joint initiatives aimed at refining regulatory frameworks governing the electric power industry. The focus was on measures that would strengthen the reliability and accessibility of electricity delivery, while also outlining strategic directions to ensure the energy sector remains technologically advanced and competitive on a national scale.
Minnikhanov reiterated that Tatarstan stands as a benchmark among Russia’s most industrialized regions, home to a substantial portion of the country’s energy infrastructure. This context underscores the region’s capacity to support large-scale energy projects and serve as a proving ground for innovative grid solutions.
The president emphasized the existing cooperation between Rosseti Group and the Grid Company, noting ongoing exchanges of technical information, collaboration on the modernization of equipment, and the readiness to dispatch emergency supplies when needed. He pointed out that, amid ongoing sanctions restrictions, prioritizing import substitution for power grid equipment and related technologies has become a strategic necessity. Tatarstan’s own expertise in producing electrical products and the components required for their manufacture positions the region to contribute meaningfully to domestic self-sufficiency. The key objective, according to Minnikhanov, is to forge mutual partnerships that accelerate the replacement of imports with locally produced goods while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.
Ryumin responded by outlining Rosseti’s interest in partnering with Tatarstan to develop concrete proposals aimed at advancing the regional grid complex. He underscored that such collaboration would support the modernization of infrastructure, improve service continuity, and enable more efficient energy management across the territory.
In his assessment, the head of Rosseti stressed the urgency of maintaining technological leadership within the industry. He noted that a significant number of enterprises in the republic are engaged in the production of high-tech energy solutions, which, in turn, strengthens the broader industrial base. The leadership in Tatarstan is shown to be prioritizing the growth of the industrial sector, recognizing its vital role in stimulating domestic production and driving economic resilience through strengthened energy security.
