Roskomnadzor announced the Last.fm portal has been unblocked after the site removed information deemed prohibited. This update came through an official agency statement.
On March 16, Roskomnadzor stated that restrictive measures were lifted from the Last.fm music portal, noting that the content previously banned has since been removed.
The ministry emphasized that it had repeatedly asked the service to delete material believed to contain unreliable socially important information and to discredit the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
Reports indicate that Roskomnadzor had previously restricted access to Last.fm due to concerns that misinformation was being spread in the public interest.
According to information from the supervisory authority, three requests were sent this year to the Last.fm management to remove material considered unreliable and harmful to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The administration did not delete the material, leading to the blocking of the site and its mobile applications. The persistence of these requests prompted the enforcement action, with access restrictions implemented to curb the spread of misinformation. [Citation: Roskomnadzor official communications]
