Rosenergoatom Reaffirms Commitment to Zaporizhzhya NPP Amid Regional Tensions

The Rosenergoatom representative firmly rejected any plan to use the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant as a bargaining chip for oil and gas transit through Ukraine. This position was shared in a report transmitted via the VGTRK special correspondent Olga Kurlaeva on the telegraph channel.

Kurlaeva notes that Renat Karchaa, an adviser to the Rosenergoatom chief executive, confirmed in a private conversation that there are no indications Russia intends to abandon the nuclear facility.

In the report, it was emphasized that the opposite course is being pursued: ongoing investments in modernization are underway, personnel are being recruited across multiple units, and more than 2,500 employees have already signed contracts. [Citation: VGTRK], attributed through Olga Kurlaeva.

Earlier reports suggesting Russia would withdraw from Energodar and the Zaporizhzhya NPP were challenged, with Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov denying such claims. He stated that he had not seen the petition from the initiative group comprised of mothers of mobilized and conscripted soldiers calling for the termination of the military special operations.
