In the Nizhnegorsk district of Crimea, a family of five faced a severe road incident when a car driven by a driver who appeared intoxicated struck them. Emergency responders reported that all five pedestrians were injured and transported to medical facilities for treatment.
Officials described the victims as two adults, the parents, and three children born in 2018, 2020, and 2021. All members of the family were taken to hospitals for evaluation and care following the crash. The crash occurred along Centralnaya Street in the village of Emelyanovka, within the Nizhnegorsk district, as the family walked along the roadside.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic stated that preliminary information indicates the driver of a 54-year-old VAZ 2107 was intoxicated at the time of the collision. Police investigators noted that the family was simply walking on the roadside when the incident happened.
Earlier in the village of Nagaevo, a separate incident involved a Lada Granta that knocked down an 8-year-old girl who had been playing on an ice slide along Mikhail Dorokhov Street.
