There are only a few days left until the long awaited Chimes of Pedroche, and a video featuring Cristina Pedroche without clothing has begun circulating online. Pedroche remains a fixture of Madrid’s New Year’s Eve tradition, returning this year to Puerta del Sol with chef Alberto Chicote by her side.
Nothing was leaked by accident. The widely shared clip shows Pedroche appearing nude as she walks through Madrid toward the Puerta del Sol, interspersed with the traditional chimes and the well-wishes that have become part of the moment in recent years. Even a brief cameo from her husband appears in the footage. His representative, María Acosta, drew attention during the distribution, and there are familiar references to their family life, including mentions of their daughter Laia.
Details about the dress she will wear for this year’s Chimes and Festival remain under wraps, with anticipation building as the countdown begins. The focus this year, as ever, is on the presentation and the celebration that accompanies the fireworks of the hour.
First step
Cristina Pedroche began her career as a model, joining a leading agency known for developing talent in the field. Her early work included appearances in prominent catalogs and magazines and collaborations with major brands such as Movistar and Tampax, laying a solid foundation for her modeling career. At the same time, in 2009 she entered television, taking small roles in series like Yo soy Bea and Sin tetas no hay cielo. Her breakthrough came when she joined the EATV video game channel, run by Electronic Arts, marking her official entry into television.
Her rise continued in 2010 when she gained broader fame on the program Yo sabía lo que hicisteis…, where she replaced Pilar Rubio as a correspondent. She remained with the show until its finale on La Sexta in 2011. She later took a similar role on Otra Movida, which aired on Neox starting in August. From 2011 to mid-2012, her rising profile was evident as she appeared on magazine covers such as FHM and Primera Línea.
September 2012 marked her move into radio, participating in Dani Mateo’s show Yu: no te lo pierdas on Los 40 Principales. By November of the same year she contributed to an episode of Anda Ya on the same network. Her steady presence on social media, especially Twitter where she built a substantial following, grew rapidly. In March 2013 she became the first Spanish woman to reach one million followers on the platform. That same year, she returned to La Sexta to join the daily after-dinner program Zapeando hosted by Frank Blanco.
From 2014 to 2015, she expanded into television productions, appearing in series such as La que se avecina, Aída and Águila Roja. She also hosted the annual Neox Fan Awards and contributed to Los Viernes al Show on Antena 3 during this period.
December 2014 brought a turning point: she signed a long-term contract with the Atresmedia group, reinforcing her position in the network. A notable moment came during the 2014 New Year’s Eve chimes when she wore a transparent dress, generating considerable discussion. She paused her role on Zapeando briefly in 2015 to host Beijing Express, which led to a renewed presence on La Sexta in February 2016.
The renewal of her Atresmedia contract in 2018 solidified her starring status within the network. She stood out again during the 2018 year-end chimes, presenting beside Alberto Chicote at Puerta del Sol with a distinctive suit and a glass sculpture. By September 2019 she was collaborating with Antena 3 on the 2019-20 season of El Hormiguero 3.0.
