Russian air defense units reported intercepting a combined total of six HIMARS and GLSDB launch systems, according to the daily briefing issued by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
In its briefing, the ministry also announced that 27 unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed in multiple locations including Topolevka and Kremennaya in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Mirny in the Zaporozhye region, as well as Inzhenerny, Zolotaya Polyana, Chaplinka, and the village of Saga in the Kherson region.
The ministry added that Russian forces had, in the Zaporozhye direction, repelled an assault by an Ukrainian group. It stated that operations against the assault unit from the 65th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were thwarted during the stated period.
Vadim Astafiev, who heads the press center for the Russian “South” group of troops, previously commented that units within the group had recaptured five Ukrainian attacks in the Donetsk direction, signaling continued Russian defensive actions in the region.
Earlier, Yan Gagin, an adviser to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, claimed that Russian forces had secured control of a key elevated position near Donetsk.
There was also a report from a former Ukrainian serviceman who expressed confusion about the underlying causes of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
