Restoration of Utilities and Heating in Zheleznogorsk and Magnitny
The governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoit, reported that electricity and water supplies in the village of Zheleznogorsk have been fully restored. The update was shared through his official telegram channel.
He noted that the local boiler room has been brought back online, and residents can expect heat in their apartments after midnight. Starovoit emphasized that heat delivery to homes hinges on several factors, including the functioning of management companies. Hot water is expected to return only after the heating system has been brought up to full capacity, with a likely restoration in the first half of the day tomorrow.
Earlier, it was reported that 17 apartment buildings in Zheleznogorsk were without heating due to a disruption in the heating network caused by a power surge and water hammer. The situation prompted rapid actions to stabilize service and restore essential utilities.
Prior to that, in Magnitny, 17 multi-storey buildings experienced heating interruptions in the early morning hours. Efforts were underway to supply heat and electricity and to mitigate the consequences. By the afternoon of January 3, eight multi-storey structures housing roughly 700 residents were left without electricity, with work continuing to restore full services.
Separately, statements from the commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine touched on the relative advantages in the use of FPV drones by the Russian Federation, highlighting ongoing battlefield dynamics and technological considerations.
