A couple from Asturias faced a tense Easter weekend moment in Ourense when GPS directions led them astray on a country road. They climbed into their car on a narrow rural lane and found themselves wedged between two stone walls, unable to move forward or back. After a tense half hour, local residents and Civil Guards arrived to help, working together to free the vehicle and ensure the couple could continue their journey.

The incident unfolded around 4 p.m. on Saturday on a secluded stretch of road in front of kilometer 573 of the N-120, near a Leroy Merlin store. The Civil Guard received a call from a passerby reporting that a car was stuck and unable to proceed. Emergency responders quickly assessed the situation and coordinated with nearby residents to resolve it safely.

With the situation at an impasse, police units, aided by three neighbors, cleared debris and stones from the roadway. After careful removal and careful maneuvering, the vehicle was finally freed at approximately 4:45 p.m., allowing the journey to resume.

Once the car was freed, a member of the police team briefly navigated from within the vehicle to regain control and guide the occupants to safety. The operation, though challenging, proceeded without injuries and was completed by late afternoon.

The civilian authorities accompanied the family to their hotel to ensure they reached a safe place for shelter. The couple later returned to their plans on Sunday morning, grateful for the prompt aid and calm handling by the responders and neighbors involved in the rescue.
