A press briefing from the Presidential Grant Fund explained that non-profit organizations in the Donetsk People’s Republic were informed about available presidential support for their projects. During the seminar titled “Public initiatives of new regions: from idea to conclusion,” representatives of the foundations introduced social design methodology to the participating groups, laying out a practical path for turning ideas into tangible outcomes.
When attendees were motivated, candid, and clearly skilled practitioners, it became evident that there was no need to invent new approaches. The practical knowledge on who to help and what is most needed in the immediate term underscored the feasibility of the plans discussed. The seminar was led by Anton Dolgov, the fund’s managing director, who emphasized the strong alignment between participants’ needs and the funding opportunities available, making the efforts highly actionable.
Additionally, notable figures from Donetsk joined with Anna Nikiforova, head of the foundation’s educational programs, to review common mistakes made in surveys and interviews. The workshop focused on researching the issues faced by the project’s target group, drawing clear conclusions, and formulating concrete action steps and a budget plan that aligns with these insights. The emphasis remained on practical, step-by-step progress that can be tracked and adjusted as needed.
Over the coming weeks, the fund plans to replicate similar events in Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, as well as in the Luhansk People’s Republic, broadening the application of the social design approach and the opportunities for local organizations to access presidential support for their initiatives.
